The First Steps Guarantees

A nanny placed in your home by First Steps will work on a one-week free trial basis during which time you pay the nanny for the time worked, not the agency fee. If you are satisfied that we have achieved the correct fit, we will move forward toward final negotiations. If you or the nanny feels the nanny is best suited to another family, First Steps will begin a fresh search on both behalves.

Sometimes, things don't go as planned. We recognize this and stand behind our 60-day guarantee: if the hiring of your nanny has not been to your satisfaction (or theirs) we will work with you to find another suitable candidate. We prefer to think we will not need to be taken up on our offer, but isn't it nice to have that reinforcement?

Beginning the Selection Process

First Steps starts by meeting with you to discuss our process for the identification and selection of prospective nannies. We gather particular information from you, such as childcare responsibilities, days and hours required, number of children, salary, and any unique situations. Next, we comb our extensive database of prescreened nannies for suitable candidates. Together, we discuss the potential candidates. First Steps then facilitates a meeting between all parties, with attendance by us, if preferred. Once you choose a nanny and the offer of employment is accepted, we give you the chance to take advantage of our optional Premium Services.

Qualifying Our Potential Nannies

All of our nanny candidates are experienced professionals. Each one has completed a comprehensive application and participated in a personal interview. First Steps works with a background investigation firm to conduct thorough background and Division of Motor Vehicle checks. Our database of nannies is as varied as your child's interests.
