Frequently Asked Questions for Nannies

Q. Why should I sign up with First Steps?
A. First Steps places nannies in homes where we have personally interviewed the family. When initiating a match, we consider many factors such as personalities, duties, and experience.  Our goal is compatibility between nannies and families.

Q. Is there an application fee?
A. There is never an application fee to the childcare candidates.

Q. How do you assign a potential nanny to a family?
A. Our process is extremely thorough. All parties complete extensive applications as well as formal interviews. We comb our evolving database for suitable nanny candidates and present the potential nannies to the families.

Q. What happens if my work situation is not what I expected?
A. Sometimes, things don't go as planned. If the pairing is not working out to be mutually satisfying, we will work with you to find another position, depending on availability.

Q. How are my benefits and days off determined?
A. While First Steps is the facilitator of the arrangement, the family becomes your employer and will discuss salary, benefits, and other work-related terms with you.
