Introducing Our Optional Premium Services

First Steps goes the distance in making your nanny selection process seamless and stress-free. In addition to finding you a suitable, compatible nanny, you are encouraged to explore our optional Premium Services. These services consist of four featured elements from which you may select one or more—a personal First Steps representative; a written work agreement; a Nanny Log; and daily/weekly activity agendas.

First Steps leads you through the nanny hiring process, beginning with the initial interview. For your comfort, we can arrange a First Steps representative to be present at the first or subsequent meetings between potential matches. Additionally, once the hiring process is complete, we can institute follow-up meetings or conferences at your convenience.

Since not everyone is familiar with the hiring process of a nanny, First Steps offers to draft your written detailed work agreement between the employer and the nanny, outlining the nanny's responsibilities. The drafted work agreement will outline your expectations of the nanny—salary, benefits, light housekeeping, days off—and is designed to be flexible and tailored to your needs. If the work conditions change at any point, the agreement is revised as well. For example, you may want your nanny to take your child on outings or field trips; the plan will state how often, where, when, and other specifics you feel the need to include.

Not sure if your child had a snack before dinner? Check your personal Nanny Log! First Steps will assist you in creating a template of your own that your childcare provider will be required to fill out on a daily basis. You may include details such as what the child ate that day, how long naptime was, if homework was completed—all questions a working parent would need to know at the end of a busy day. Imagine you come home to find your child not feeling well—it certainly would be helpful to know if you should suspect illness due to the child's lack of appetite and general lethargy, all of which are recorded in the log for you.

A nanny can and should be more than just a "babysitter," therefore First Steps plans for your child to get the utmost benefit out of having a personal nanny. We can draft a daily or weekly activity agenda for the family that will include the child's schedule and any planned activities. In addition to a written syllabus of where the child needs to be at a certain day and time—dance lessons Tuesdays at 3 p.m.—the activity agenda may designate themed weeks in which activities—story time, videos, games—are centered around a certain shape, color, or concept. This structure is designed to combine learn and play elements. The plan can incorporate figures of interest to your child, be it dinosaurs, constellations, or sports.

When put in place and adhered to, the Premium Services offers a fun, rewarding, creative, educational environment for your child, and organization and peace of mind for families and childcare providers. First Steps firmly believes that each person involved—children, parents, and nannies—will benefit from this all-encompassing agency feature.
